It should fix the problem as long as the seat is not damaged. If you are removing the valve to repair it, make sure to order a new gasket as well.

When not in use, the spotting gun is leaking water. Even after releasing the pedal steam is still leaking out a bit. What seems to be the problem?

A:
Most likely the valve is not cutting off. You may need to replace the disc if it's cracked. Replace the valve spring if it's too weak. If the disc and spring are ok, then the seat in the valve body may be damaged, or the valve steam is bent. The parts should be replaced.

A:
Replacing the stem & disc assembly will usually solve the problem unless the seat is damaged. In that case the entire valve will need to be replaced.
