A:
Make sure the hose is secure: retighten it if necessary. If the leak persists replace the hose gasket (CIS1, CIS2). Or use Teflon™ tape (WG1, WG2).

Why would a water gun not spray?

A:
There could be a couple of reasons this would happen: 1. The strainer where the gun and hose meet may be plugged, take the strainer out using needle nose pliers, and either blow out the debris using an air hose or replace the strainer is the sediment build-up is too hard to remove. 2. The hole in the orifice may be clogged, the gun would have to be disassembled and the debris blown out using an air hose or mouth. Make sure the trigger is activating the plunger- Check the handle to make sure it’s functioning properly.

What would cause a water gun to leak upon first installation?

A:
It’s possible to over tighten the gun and thus cause the push lever to activate. To test this, clamp the small nut with a wrench, and with the water gun facing the operator, turn the wrench clockwise. This will take the pressure off the push lever and stop it from activating when it’s not being pressed.

Why would a water gun (WG1, WG2, CIS2) burst if it were installed into an existing pressing station location?

A:
Most people will hook up a water gun to a condenser on a pressing station. If the condenser is not working properly, the condenser will allow like steam into the unit causing bursting units or heads on the guns. However, this can also happen if the trigger is held down to long on a functioning condenser. The condenser needs time to condense the steam down to water, if the trigger is held down to long, and the condenser hasn’t had time to condense the steam to water- you will also get live steam into the gun which can cause the gun to explode.

Can you hook up the water guns to any water source?

A:
These water guns are only supposed to be used on cold to room temperature water lines. Hot water could harm the gaskets inside the water gun and cause the water gun to leak.

Why would the water guns (WG1, WG2) burst or bubble?

A:
This only happens when the guns are on a steam return line. (That’s why these guns should only be used on cold water lines at a psi of 80.) Even though the return line has water in it, the temperatures can reach up and over 300°F is some locations on the line which could damage the plastic casing of the water gun. Also, there is also “flash” steam present on return lines that could cause the guns to burst.
