A:
While we cannot guarantee a certain number of washes for every customer due to different environmental conditions and handling of the labels, the general number is 50 washes or 50 dry cleanings.

Do you have labels for clothing that are permanent and iron on...do you also have the machine to print names on such labels?

A:
We can make custom printed heat seal labels (HSL*) which adhere to the clothes. Thermopatch kits are also available; these items are considered semi-permanent. The heat seal machine (DIRHSM1000) will fix the labels onto your garments.

Should I be cautious when applying heat seals to delicate fabrics?

A:
It is recommended by Thermopatch to use a lower heat setting for delicate fabrics such as silk and rayon. Basically, you would want to match the heat setting with the proper iron setting. That being said, our seals require 385F-400F to properly seal... and the recommended setting are- Viscose: 375F, Wool/Polyester/silk: 300F, Acetate: 290F, Acrylic/Lycra/Spandex/Nylon: 275F So for any of the above fabrics its suggested they test the fabric before applying any heat higher then what is recommended.

Is there any way to remove a heat-seal after it has been applied?

A:
1. First there is acetone (nail polish remover). They could blot it with a cotton ball with nail polish remover until the adhesive starts to break down then dab with 2. Next they could reheat the spot where the adhesive is to the melting point again (same as they would do to adhere the label), then use the cotton cloth method again. I would recommend the Teflon cloth in-between so they don’t get adhesive on their platen. 3. Other than that hot melt adhesives don’t like extreme cold. It sounds odd but they could place the garment in the freeze for a few hours then the adhesive should break apart. They would have to work quickly before it returns to room temp. 4. The solvent methylene chloride is what they use to dissolve adhesives but this would come with the same warning as the other solvents. It is nasty stuff and should be handled and used with care. I would try the heating/transfer method first then move onto more aggressive methods if necessary.
