What # size for the invisible zipper should I get? My store bought brands don't indicate tooth size.

Measure the width of the zipper coil when secured closed. The width of the interlocking teeth in millimetres is the size.

I’ve been getting a lot of complaints about the #5 sliders not fitting into zippers. Do you know what’s happening? Are the sliders defective?

There may be some confusion about what slider to use for the zipper in question. The #5 new style plastic (ZS5N*) and the #5 old style plastic (ZS5V*) are not compatible and of course, the #5 Nylon Coil sliders (ZS5C) won’t work on a #5 Molded Plastic Zipper (old or new). Metal sliders also will not work with plastic and vice versa.
