What is the difference between an “Acid Free” and an “Acid Neutral” Wedding Gown Box?

These wedding gown boxes are both archival quality boxes. The “ Acid Free” boxes have an extra base pad that is placed in the bottom of the box and a window frame insert which is acid free. This means that the base pad and frame not only are acid neutral (pH level of @ 7) but they are treated to prevent absorption of acids that the inserts could come in contact with. The “Acid Neutral” boxes also start off with a pH level of @ 7, however they do not have the additive that protects them against contact with acids.
