Should there be any staples in the press pads?
When manufacturing the press pads, staples are used to hold the pieces in place while sewing. While the majority of staples are removed after assembly, some do remain from time to time. The staples do not need to be there and can be removed. However, if they are left in, they will not cause any damage to the garments, as the garments wouldn’t come into contact with them if they are installed properly. Also the staples are galvanized and will not rust.
