A:
Check the last time you changed your steel base pad. If the steel base pad is shot, the padding will start to wear down quickly and you may start to notice lines in as little as a week.

A:
The manufacturer recommends that the machines be run for a few pressing cycles with out any shirts on them. This removes wrinkles on the covers and flannels and allows a better fit on the buck. Also note that moisture and chemicals are the main cause for premature deterioration. And if the buck sits cold the deterioration process quickens. Run the bucks periodically to remove the moisture and chemicals that will harm the fibers in the covers. Be sure to inspect covers and bags for creases. When pressing shirts, there is resistance encountered from the shirts which may start to set a permanent crease. The creases- if not pressed will cause the material to weaken and a rip in the cover may form.

What would be a reason for more frequent changes of pads and covers?

A:
If the padding and covers don’t seem to be lasting as long as they used to, there is a good possibility that the steel pads need to be changed. Steel padding is often ignored. However, constant exposure to heat, moisture, and chemical will cause the pad to break down and decrease the resiliency of the steel. Dry Cleaners often compensate for the lack of buoyancy by putting on a thicker flannel or by changing the pads and covers more often.

Why would the nylon covers on a laundry press fall apart prematurely?

A:
If the nylon covers start to burn in certain spots and aren’t lasting as long as they should, check the following: 1. Make sure the heads are clean, if there is chemicals/starches building up- the heat may cause a chemical reaction which will break down the cover much faster. Make sure the steel base pads are still functional, if the steel is too compressed in certain areas, the covers will start to fall apart faster.

Do you guarantee the staples will not rust.

A:
The staples are galvanized to help prevent rusting, however, there are no guarantees that the staples will not rust. Staples that sit in water for an expanded period of time, or that come into contact with a harsh sour may rust faster that staples that are not subjected to this.

Are staples rustproof?

A:
As long as the staples are not left on clothes for a long period of time, most people find that staples are a suitable way of attaching tags to clothes. Typically, there is a zinc coating on the staples, used for manufacturing purposes. While this coating offer some protection, staples can rust if they come in contact with moisture or other corrosive materials.

Can different staples be used in the staplers?

A:
The staplers will only take specific staples. For instance, the Ace Clipper Stapler 07020 (AC1) will only work with Ace Clipper Staples 70001 (AS1). If another type of staple is put into the stapler it will not work and may cause jamming.
