Reliable first quality float parts.

The United Brass float valve is a mechanical feedback mechanism that regulates fluid level by using a float to drive an inlet valve so that a higher fluid level will force the valve closed and a lower fluid level will force the valve open. Inlet pressure should not exceed 50 PSI. The valve has a conical shaped disc that seals into a conical shape seat. It will handle up to 300 degrees of hot water and 400 degrees of steam. Available in a variety of sizes.

What can I do with a float valve that is continually sticking?

A:
The piston o-ring has probably gone dry. You can use non-petroleum based lubricant to lube the piston and that should solve the problem. It is important to use the correct lubricant such as Parker Super O-Lube (PRT429) otherwise the o-ring will swell and the piston will bind.

I replaced all traps & valves but the problem still continues, the water from return tank is too hot and it makes the pump runs over time. I worry that will wear out the pump.

A:
Extra hot water in the return tank is caused by either bad traps, bad float valves in the return tank, or a bad swing/spring check valve between the pump and boiler.

My float valve is leaking at the front of the valve where the actuating arm is.

A:
Either the EPDM tip on the end of the plunger assembly is worn out or damaged or the inlet pressure is exceeding the valve rating of 50 psi. At pressures over 50 PSI the float ball has a difficult time generating enough leverage to shut off the flow of water.
