How do I determine what the size I will need when I order slick rail parts?

A:
The measurements listed in the catalog correspond with the inside pipe size (I.P.S) of galvanized pipe. This is a standard measurement. Please note that the outside diameter of the pipe will not equal the IPS size. Our catalog lists the X x Y sizes. It is important to look at the catalog pictures in order to see what the X refers to and what the Y refers to when ordering the parts. For instance the rail support (RP20) shows a size of ¾” x ¾” or 1”. This means that the X (the vertical pipe) will accept a ¾” pipe only, and the Y (the horizontal pipe) will accept both a ¾” and/or a 1” pipe.
